The specific extract from cinnamon bark inhibits the action of 5 alpha reductase, including its acne promoting actions in the sebaceous glands, as well as cyclooxygenase-2 (cox-2), a known pro-inflammatory enzyme. One percent of the population is allergic to topical cinnamon extract and will develop redness and stinging following use on approximately the second or third day. Bacteriostat Cleanser is a powerful acne cleanser that is gentle enough for dry and sensitive skin types. It is also recommended for rosacea and acne rosacea and has effective bacterial control for P-acnes and other undesirable bacteria and their acne promoting lipases. The turmeric adds additional anti-inflammatory benefits and also blocks the actions of 5 alpha-reductase, reducing sebum production and eliminating acne infections. This causes the red inflamed look of the skin to resolve quickly, and promotes healing. The marjoram blocks interleukin-6, tumor necrosis factor-alpha and histamine which is generated by free fatty acids within the follicles. This amazing product dissolves sebum plugs that have developed into blackheads and whiteheads (milia) and inhibits the development of new plugs. Using Blackhead/Whitehead Controller twice daily dissolves blackheads in 3 to 4 weeks. As a strong stimulator of the skin?s immune response, Inhibiting Gel has potent anti-inflammatory action. It should be used once daily after the Salicylic-Glycolic Gel or Follicle Clearing Lotion, and before the Green Tea/Clay Poultice. Inhibiting Gel also provides a quick control of herpes simplex (cold sores) when applied 3-4 times the first day of symptoms, and 2-3 times the second day.
